On 16th March, more than 40 members enjoyed a visit to Eastbrook Farm in Bishopstone, and the Royal Oak Pub, which is part of the same business. The farm is run by Helen Browning, CEO of the Soil Association and Helen spoke eloquently for an hour and a half about being an organic tenant farmer, answering a wide range of questions from a very informed and interested audience. They then enjoyed a delicious (organic) “soup and sourdough” lunch before walking or taking a pre-booked Landrover tour around the farm and surrounding area, to see whatever was of most interest to them. It was a really enjoyable day.
