AGM 2024

On the 8th October, 400 Wiltshire WI members and our neighbouring Federations attended the Wiltshire Federation of WIs Annual General Meeting at the Devizes Corn Exchange. The day was filled with a range of thought provoking talks from a variety of speakers.

In the morning, we heard from the Marchioness of Lansdowne and Chair of Swindon Women's Aid Nicky Alberry who discussed domestic abuse and the work being undertaken to end violence against women and girls in Wiltshire.

We also heard from Rose Mustakova from Women for Women International, who discussed how ongoing WI support can positively impact women and girls internationally.

After a break for lunch, we heard from Julia Mackay who is a retired Detective Superintendent who worked on solving cold crime cases and has had an illustrious career.

Sally Smith, freefall parachute champion was up next talking about 'magnificent women and their flying machines' which provided a lively history of British women's efforts towards aviation.

The day ended with singer Michelle Rees providing some lighter entertainment. As usual, the raffle and 50/50 Club Draw was a great success. The first prize in the raffle was a family ticket to Longleat Safari Park and the top prize of the 50/50 Club was £250. We had a great day- thanks to all those who attended!
